Liraglutide is a daily injection that works like your body's natural GLP-1 hormone. It helps control blood sugar, slows stomach emptying, and reduces appetite. It is prescribed by doctors for type 2 diabetes and, at a higher dose, for weight management.

Liraglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist with 97% homology to native GLP-1. It is indicated for type 2 diabetes at doses up to 1.8 mg daily (Victoza) and for chronic weight management at 3.0 mg daily (Saxenda). It reduces body weight by 5–10% through appetite suppression and delayed gastric emptying.
