Orlistat

Orlistat is a weight-loss medication that works by reducing the absorption of dietary fat in the intestines.

Orlistat works in your gut, not your brain. It blocks about one-third of the fat you eat from being absorbed. It is available over the counter and on prescription.

Orlistat is a gastric and pancreatic lipase inhibitor that prevents the hydrolysis and absorption of approximately 30 percent of dietary triglycerides. It is indicated for weight management alongside a reduced-calorie diet.
